The increasing incidence and virulence of ABSSSI have occurred with a parallel increase in antibiotic resistance. As a result, treatment options with activity against the various causative organisms of ABSSSI have become of the utmost importance. This Special Report discusses the use of Teflaro, a broad-spectrum cephalosporin that has shown efficacy for the treatment of ABSSSI, including both methicillin-resistant and -susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus.
