Houston—Surgeons must change their approach to laparoscopic cholecystectomy to reduce the number of bile duct injuries from the procedure, which still occur more frequently than in the era of open surgery, panelists said at the 2017 annual meeting of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
