Antireflux Mucosectomy May Be Treatment for Refractory GERD

A minimally invasive endoscopic procedure that leaves no artificial devices in a patient’s body may help treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, new research shows.

The procedure, called antireflux mucosectomy (ARMS), involves resecting stomach mucosa near the gastroesophageal junction.
