C. diff Linked to Increased CRC Risk

A new study has found that Clostridioides difficile may be a driver of colorectal cancer (CRC) (Cancer Discov OF1-OF13. doi:10.1158/2159-8290.CD-21-1273).

Researchers from Johns Hopkins’ Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Bloomberg-Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, in Baltimore, found that this single bacterium was responsible for a spectrum of changes within colon cells that increased their susceptibility to cancer.
