Research Shows Benefits of Exercise Prescriptions for Cancer Patients

LAS VEGAS—Exercise oncology, a field that has grown considerably since the 1980s, now has more than 1,000 randomized controlled trials that demonstrate the efficacy of exercise in cancer prevention and treatment. Exercise physiologists have shown the potential benefits of exercise in mitigating common cancer-related symptoms and chemotoxicity, and increasing chemotherapy completion rates.
