Chicago—Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) may be the future of mammography screening, replacing traditional two-dimensional (2-D) and becoming the new standard of care, or so Sarah Friedewald, MD, a radiologist at the Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern University, in Chicago, predicts. Other experts are not so certain about DBT’s role, however, saying that the benefits of DBT are incremental.
