Employment Contracts for Surgeons: Covering the Key Elements

CHICAGO—Although landing that first job can be both exciting and daunting, a critical component of the new-hire process is the employment contract, a document that can have much more impact on a clinician’s financial and emotional well-being than many rookie surgeons might imagine. In a presentation at the 2024 annual meeting of the American Hernia Society, Ryan Juza, MD, discussed the finer points of these contracts, including several unappreciated but not less
