Documenting Fluid Intake Could Improve Recovery in Bariatric Surgery Patients

Researchers at Greenwich Hospital, in Connecticut, have found a simple, low-cost solution to their difficulties in tracking patients’ fluid intake after bariatric surgery. By restricting patients to a specific number and size of bottles and cups, nurses and nursing assistants were able to better document how much water patients were drinking during their recovery period, with the goal of reducing hospital readmissions.
