There is no need to introduce a grand rounds speaker. Traditional introductions are too long. They are soporifics. Standard introductions deflate the audience and do a disservice to the speaker.

The introduction steals that golden 20- to 30-second window a speaker has to engage the audience.

Introductions to most grand rounds presentations are an academic version of reading the
