In this video, after mobilizing the right colon to the mid-transverse colon, the surgeons perform an appendectomy and divide the terminal ileum and transverse colon. Next, the surgeons turn the right colon 180 degrees clockwise, passing the divided section of the transverse colon through the pelvic peritoneum up to the vaginal introitus. Finally, they perform an intracorporeal side-to-side ileotransverse colon anastomosis and affix the back of the neovagina to the lateral pelvic wall to prevent prolapse.
