both Robotics and ICG did not avert the CBD injury in this particular case….both being “experimental” techniques should have been emphasized in the preop informed consent, otherwise the risk of litigation is increased multifolds
Despite the current dissuasion from dome down dissection a combination of dome down and traditional dissection could have assisted this anatomy AS WELL AS in intracholecystic approach to the infundibulocystic junction or a partial cholecystectomy although im not a fan...27 years experience ZERO ductal injuries..NEITHER robotics OR ICG was the problem here...this was bad technique....open conversion is also an option...I personally haven't opened in several years
