The FDAs proposed ban on powdered medical gloves took effect on January 18. The gloves were found to pose an “unreasonable and substantial risk for illness or injury” to health care providers and patients exposed to them, according to a press release by the FDA. The action was the result of an inability to correct the risk through new or updated labeling.
