On the eve of this year’s Digestive Disease Week, the American Cancer Society published new guidelines recommending that the age of first screening for colorectal cancer be lowered from 50 years, the age established by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the U.S. Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer for screening people at average risk, to 45.
